California Primary Election
Governor is open (Newsom is termed out), Los Angeles is electing its next mayor, and a packed Democratic field could let two Republicans top the gubernatorial primary. The races that will most shape California are below.
Why this exists
California's election system is sprawling, confusing, and full of races most voters never hear about. The polls focus on a handful of candidates per race. The voter information guide is too long for most people to read. National quiz tools (like iSideWith) don't use California-specific issues — they tell you where you sit politically, not who to vote for.
DecideCA is a nonpartisan resource built to fix that. Each quiz uses California-specific issues — the ones the race will actually turn on — and matches you to a real candidate or position. Every candidate or measure is included. Sources are public. No login, no tracking, no email harvested.
This is a side project, not a nonprofit or a campaign. If you find it useful, share it. If a candidate's position looks wrong, tell us.
